About Us
The Kindred Advantage is a Supervised Independent Living (SIL) program for young adults, aged 18-23. We are a private, non-profit organization that provides SIL services in shared housing settings and are dedicated to addressing key social determinants such as safe housing, proper nutrition, access to quality education, employment opportunities, and transportation through evidence-based life skills training. Our program aims to empower young adults to lead independent and productive lives, equipping them with the necessary tools and support to thrive in society.

Our Founder
As the Founder and Executive Director, Michelle views The Kindred Advantage as an opportunity to carry out her passion for inspiring teen and young adult females to discover their positive, unique attributes and amplify them. She encourages her mentees to use their new found sense of awareness to become productive members of society. Her God-ordained purpose is evidenced by the lives she has touched including three successful daughters and countless others she has inspired as a mentor and role-model.
The youngest of five siblings, Michelle experienced the priceless advantage of growing up as a 70's kid under the guardianship of nurturing parents and siblings. As a wife, mother, pharmacist and community volunteer, challenges have certainly been present in Michelle's life, however subjection to God's will, faith and the loving support of family and friends undergirds her mission and success. That same perpetual, supportive environment fuels the success of her daughters and grandchildren today.
Michelle desires that every young adult would have access to the same supportive familial environment and is determined to fill that void in the lives of the young adult participants in The Kindred Advantage Supervised Independent Living Program. The same family values which have sustained her is making a positive difference in their lives.
In her spare time, Michelle's spends time as a gospel music and film production assistant. As a travel pharmacist, she enjoys mission trips where she can experience different cultures and make a positive impact on lives.
